Scope – Architecture, Interior design & Build
Completion – 2005
A single storey home located on a one-hectare property in the picturesque Adelaide Hill’s town of Aldgate, heralding pine and oak plantations, manicured vineyards, an old converted dairy and expansive dam.
To develop an extension to the existing house that provided additional living and studio space and took maximum advantage of the spectacular outlook.
A simple six-metre high cube form was conceived to bookend the existing house, strikingly detailed in glass and charcoal coloured Exotec cladding. Spectacular views of the vineyards are now captured through the towering glass wall, also framing the new spaces within. A vast timber deck was employed to wrap around the new extension. The deck cantilevers over the gardens and creek setting and connects with the existing home providing a much loved and used outdoor entertaining space.
