Scope – Architecture and Interior design
Completion – 1999
A compact and vacant 420m2 site located in an established residential suburb containing predominantly single storey dwellings.
A three bedroom home with open plan living areas and a heavy focus on the use of glass to create a transparency between inside and out.
With a two-storey solution not an option with the local council, it was decided to locate the vehicle garage in a half basement level with the master suite facing east directly above. Living areas were located on the west side of the site oriented towards the city view with lofty 4m high ceilings and a central corridor sky light, designed to bring in light from the north and east. A series of large floor to ceiling top hung sliding glass doors connected the interior with the landscaped courtyard.
